He comes off as a kind and formal person, handling himself well while talking to others. He is also not stupid, he recruited Yoshiharu and Inuchiyo to bodyguard Hanbei specifically because he knew that they were of Owari and that they'd kill Yoshitatsu if he threatened Hanbei.
He picked Yoshiharu and Nagamasa to serve Hanbei for their wealth, so it can be inferred he's a rather financially conscious or plain greedy individual. when he's called out on this Ando merely seems to ignore it. He is also a bit of an alcoholic, and when it appeared Hanbei took over Inabayama castle he felt he might be able to spend his entire retired life rich and drinking himself silly.
Background[]
He was once Saitou Dousan's right hand man and the head of the Mino Three, however, due to Hanbei's intelligeance and his crafty nature, Saitou Yoshitatsu developed a sense of distrust in him after he rebelled and kicked Dousan out of Mino. He and the other Mino three are greately responsible for kicking Dousan out after he tried giving Mino to Nobuna.
Plot[]
Invasion of Mino Arc[]
He is first introduced to Yoshiharu and Inuchiyo to lead them to Hanbei during her event to seek out retainers. He reveals to Yoshiharu that he knows who he and Inuchiyo are and that he wants them to be Hanbei's retainers when the meets Yoshitatsu in order to protect her from him should things go south. He leads them to Hanbei's room, where it's revealed Azai Nagamasa has also come up with the plan to make Hanbei join his side, and Ando leaves while giving them one warning: if they anger Hanbei, even he can't vouch for their survival.
